I've had some unpleasant experiences with Belk, I bought a jacket only to discover it was damaged by the time I got home. It was discounted (not because of the damage) and I went to exchange it at another Belk but had unfortunately run into a manager that was on a power trip and refused to apply the original discount to the replacement jacket and wanted me to pay more for that. I said whatever I don't have time to argue with this guy and called the store in another town afterwards to talk to a manager there. They were appalled by his behaviour and had me come in with the receipt to apply the discount and give me the difference. They made up for it, but the management issues are rather annoying.
Nice selection of clothing, shoes, etc. that you expect from a department store. Home/kitchen items as well.
Very very Professional staff !! Ericka sales associate was very Professional..I liked that the store manager was at the entrance and was greeting customer and handing out coupon cards herself !! The sale was charity day ..Thanks Belk for a great shopping experience !!
Their store is not really organized, so you can't maneuver through the items with the cart. The biggest problem I encountered this visit was the customer service. Usually that's not a concern, but this time the employees that were at the cashier counter were so rude to me. They continued talking amongst themselves about how crappy their managers attitude was, and had their backs to me while the guy was cashing me out- but talking to them instead of ensuring good quality customer care. This is some of the reason I only shop here once a year, if that. Disappointed that such a "high end" department store has such careless employees.
Love Belks in general, but they can be a little pricey on some items and they can be limited on sizes. Was in 4 times in 5 months to inquire about various cute shoes or boots in my size (8) only to be told they only had sizes 5, 11 & 12! "WHAT"?? Finally ran across a different sales person there and voila! They produced my boots and shoes in the correct size, and said all the others were back there in size 8 as well. So I think my issue lies more with employee training than Belks in general. They're a store with a little of everything!
